What is wrong with mercury dental amalgam?

While scientific studies have not verified whether or not mercury amalgam is a known risk factor for illness, there are some areas of concerns. Minute amounts of mercury vapour are released by amalgam fillings over time, which can then be reabsorbed by the body. Overall, Health Canada advises individuals to minimize their daily exposure to mercury as much as possible.
